Checking some schedules that have been sent to me. Looks like Tri-Cities Prep will play their first three games 8-man style against Colton, Pomeroy, and Liberty Christian before playing their SE 11-man schedule.
I was looking for some intriguing early 8-man match-up's and did not see too much in terms of games that stood out to me as expected top ranked tests. Although Colton and TCP will stand to be a good one I would assume.
For all of you others out there, let me know your schedules or of games that you feel are big early season (first couple of weeks/non-league) match-up's.

I also see that ACH and Columbia meet early once again the 2nd week on September 10th. That is always a good one!

Crazy,
I think I have a pretty good handle on whats going on here on the West side. You are my eyes and ears east of the mountains. Who are the favorites/contenders? What new teams (specifically teams moving from 11man) will make an impact, or change the football landscape over there?

Most teams that make the move from 11-man down to 8-man do not experience immediate success in that first year. I think in the last 5 years or so the only one team that has moved down has actually made the playoffs that first year.
On the East side I see the SE League being as weak as it has been in a long long time. It is strange to say that with 9 of the last 12 state titles coming from there. But with TCP being a couple students over and having to move up, L-W-K in a down cycle (was a time I thought I would never say that), SJE, Touchet, Pomeroy are likely to be somewhat competitive but at this time I can't say they will be anywhere near contenders. The SE also lost Lyle-Wishram who IMO would likely compete for top of the SE League this year.
The best team in the SE League will likely be Colton because they have the QB back. Will they be better than last year? I am not sure, at this point it would be hard to predict that.
In the NE League I have to say your usual suspects of ACH and Columbia will be tough as usual. Cusick and their coach of 2 years will have their first real adjustment due from graduation, although there are still some good pieces left there for them to try to defend their league title. Additions Northport and Republic I know nothing about...as well as Odessa-Harrington combo. Should be interesting up there. I think it is wide open.

That game is week 3 for L/W. Week 4 we host L.Q. That might be the biggest week 3 game of the year. Loser has a tough road to the playoffs, if indeed only the top 2 make it. Then LW follows up with LQ? We'll know a lot about the league early. Coach, are u guys at camp? How's it going?

We are at camp. We have squared off with both Tahola and King's Way in scrimmages. (all three played each other) Both of them are going to be good this year. The winner of the Pac South may have more than 1 league loss.
