I want to pass along some information from the west side on how things are developing.
The PCL North is now the Northwest Football League or NWFL or NWF League
Teams:
Clallam Bay Crescent Evergreen Lutheran Highland Christian Lopez Lummi Muckleshoot Neah Bay Quilcene
The PCL South is now the, I believe, Southwest 1B League
Teams:
Kingsway Lake Quinault Lyle Mary M Knight Oakville Taholah Washington State Deaf Wishkah
The playoff format will have NO affiliation between the NWFL and the SW 1B. (no crossover playoff games)
The NWFL: 1-4 make the playoffs. 1 plays 4 and 2 plays 3 with the winners going to State.
So far there has been no information on how the SW League will do their playoff format.
Anybody that has information to add please do so.

Wow, great information Crazy! Will all of those NWFL schools be fielding football teams? That's great if they are. Lyle being in the South could change the balance of power. I like that there's a new team to shake things up. With Kings Way quickly becoming competetive Wishkah, LQ, and Taholah could struggle to hang on to those top 3 spots.

Just a reminder- It's "Lyle-Wishram". ;D The SW 1B Play-off will have #1 vs. #2. That game will be 2 weeks after the regular season is over (there will be a bye week). That is what was decided at a meeting on Feb 4th.

I just noticed that Easton isn't listed in the SWL. What is their status? I checked out Lyle on a map, man that's gonna be a trek to Taholah and LQ and vice versa. Just a few short years ago there were only 8 teams on the entire Westside. I hope we can continue to rebuild.
I hope they reconsider the playoff format. I love the crossover games, its a great opportunity to gauge the strength of the leagues as a whole. It also insures that the best 4 teams make it to the quarterfinals. At the very least I hope the South decides to take the top 4 like the North. If they go with the top 2, a team could potentially go 8-2 and have no postseason.
Reminds me a little bit of how they did the D4 basketball. 3 teams from the North tie for the league title, but only 2 advance to the District tournament. So in the end you have 4 teams competing for 3 spots to state and the 3rd spot automatically goes to one of the weaker teams from the South instead of the 3 best teams in the district. I confess the odd team out was Taholah, but even if it was LQ or Oakville that got left out, I still think its a goofy way to have a district tournament. I'm glad I finally got that off my chest!

Easton went to play in the NE. As fas as the travel of Lyle to Tahola- it is a little closer than when we (Lyle) had to travel to Colton. Before we made to decision to try to get into the SW we studied the mileage issue- it's pretty much a 'push' between our travels from the SE to the SW. But with the new composition of the SE, moving to the SW makes travel better for us.
