The 1B limit went up to 92. That is quite a jump. Some schools who thought they would be 2B are now 1B. This should shake up some leagues.

Two schools that do not have enough football players to play 11-man are Tri-Cities Prep and Liberty Christian in the Southeast League. LC finished their season with 13 or 14 kids this year.
Indications are that both of these teams will play ineligible 8-man to be able to field teams for 2010.

Will Pomeroy play 8-man ball or opt up. They did the 8-man game a few years back. What about Tekoa-Oakesdale ? did Rosalia drop out of the mix ?

This is a significant increase in the numbers from earlier estimates that it would drop 10 or stay about the same. There were many opt ups from 1B to 2B. A few that I didn't really think would happen. Really shakes things up. Now, with LaSalle opting up to 1A, the Mid Valley 2B will be back to 3 teams with Lyle/Wishram going 1B.

I bet Riverside Christian is breathing a sigh of relief. They were almost left out by themselves in Dist. 5 until the shift in #'s.

Things are better for them now that there are at least 2 more teams.

99 would have been a good cut off number. That way the bottom 4 in 2-B would be eligible for 8-man. I don't believe this is the final list. Things might change after Jan. 5th.

T-O is staying 1B at this time, so they have to field their own 8-man team, meaning Rosalia will have to do the same if things stay the same as they are right now.
Pomeroy I was told initially plans to play 8-man but they have "one more meeting to decide for sure" so they may not be a done deal yet.
