All league Second Team?

This is my understanding as has been practiced in years past in the SE. The Southeast never releases an All-League 2nd-Team for media purposes. They only release an "official" All-League 1st-Team and 2nd team is a coaches/schools list only.

Only a first team was picked.

Wow...how rewarding for the players who performed well enough to be on a Second Team. Good to see that the NE B8 League takes the right approach.

I don't think it's necessarily the "wrong" approach. At least a few years ago, the 2nd team wasn't released to the media, but a list was compiled and distributed through the coaches to the teams. Those kids still get to know they were recognized by the coaches in the league. It means just as much, and the players themselves will remember they made 2nd team if its in the paper or not- and that's really who it's for, right?

Still, every second team kid likes to read his name in the paper and to know that more than just the kids school district is aware of the honor.

Oh yeah, I forgot, we are still in that 'send every kid home with an award' time in America aren't we...

And make sure you hug your Christmas tree before you chop it down.

And make sure you hug your Christmas tree before you chop it down. And then take it back out to the forest and replant it when you are done...

Wow...I am sorry that I even brought this up. It is really not that big of a deal that the NE lists its second team and the SE does not. Nothing wrong with being different. But having a second team is nothing even close to sending everyone home with an award (only the few who perform well enough get to be named to a second team) or tantamount to being a tree hugger. At least some of you (Bah Humbug) are having fun with this one. Nothing wrong with that. And congratulations to the first team players.
